Ruby Rose was born in Hemwick Charnel Lane, a more rural and quiet place from the city of Yharnam, even if a bit more grim in atmosphere. As is fitting a town filled with burial sites that encompass its entirety. As she grew up, Ruby was given tasks, traveling along other to the City to for trade, aidng in harvests in the fields as well as burials and cremations. Older still she also aids in the harvest and production of Hemwick’s more well known and macabre export, bone marrow ash. Ruby never really was sure if her desensitization of the process overtime was a good thing or not. She was allowed to keep some of what she made as payment, a great asset for when she becomes a hunter. Ruby Rose always wanted to be a hunter, protecting people just like her parents and uncle. The tales she they told and was read inspiring her as much as her crafted weapon. Her rifle was a gift for her 14th birthday by her father. She was 15 now. Old and trained to travel to Yharnam alone to gather blood and supplies. On the way out, she noticed a stagecoach leaving as well but gave it little thought. It was at the old trader shop in Yharnam that sparked her unexpected early entry. Explaining this to her family involved shock, laughter, hugs, and congratulations. Though none of it had relieved Ruby of her nervousness.
