Yharnamites would occasionally come to the Healing Church to volunteer as hunters, but most did not posses that "special something", and hadn't what it took to become proper church hunters. But they were not completely useless to the church, and were often given the chance to become followers of the church hunters, assisting them during the hunt as riflemen and manpower, a very important role, and one which many would accept. The work of the hunters' followers were indeed dangerous, as their tasks were often risky and hard, such as having to snipe beasts from afar, shepherd them into traps or even bait them into ambushes, and it were not unheard of that things went wrong, ending up with many brave men and women dead, as the unpredictable and diabolic cunning of the beasts is something to beware. But as dangerous and uncertain as this life were, people survived the hardships and the ordeals, and slowly among the ranks of the hunters' followers a few recognized heroes emerged, boosting the morale and focus of other followers. One of these heroes is Daryl the Pouncer, known for his unusual but unmatched techniques of leaping atop beasts and riding them like crazed horses, and sometimes riding them straight into traps. Another is Pikeman Reginald, who've pierced to death over thirty beasts on his pike, which he named Bloody Gadara after her first kill, and his lost lover. And a well known name is Louise the Nailer, a woman with the eyes of a hawk and remarkable precision to go along, who've multiple times saved her fellow hunters and followers from preying beasts lurking on them, as she nails almost all of her shots.
