Rayna is a pirate who washed ashore at Yharnam, her crew all dead and her ship resting at the bottom of the bay. She began her quest to survive through the horrors of Yharnam and to get herself another ship; for Rayna hid within herself a terrible curse, from which she could only find refuge on the sea. Rayna was brimming with beasthood, overflowing with primal energy. On the sea she could be calm, but surrounded by beasts and the murderous humans of Yharnam, she sometimes gives in to her rage, and transforms into a ferocious beast. Still, she holds on to her humanity, to her quest to rise above the horror. But there's a naggling voice in her head saying that maybe this is who she was meant to be all along...
