The reasoning behind the Partizan and the Shortsword is that the Partizan is an extremely underestimated weapon. It's good for death, but I wont tell you how, you'll have to see for yourself.
The Short Sword is to replicate the small blades Legionnaires carried as a last resort when either their Spear broke, or the element of range was lost to them.
I'm not advocating Ganking, but to invade into a back to back Phalanx (assuming you have a few friends interested in the build) would be pretty sweet.
If you want to fling fire, firebombs. Stay true to the theme, absolutely no magic.
