the DWGR can be used with this build but it can be changed for whatever you wish...hornet,leo,cloranthy, tearstone etc.
To me this build also looks aesthetically pleasing, while maintaining good poise, with the DWGR those invulnerability frames will help immensely.
Now, it does focus on dual wielding, but it can be altered for use of a shield whether by armour changes or weapon changes.
you could remove some points from dex and increase strength for a greater number of weapons, if you so wish because then it really opens up some options as to weapon choice. For using heavier weapons armour changes may be needed though due to weight restraints, that, or you use the RoFaP.
all in all, the build is pretty versatile in weapon and armour choice if you put a few tweaks in here and there
