This build is for jolly co-operation. An the ability to throw lighting javelins. They make most boss, no most thing in general a walk in the park. plus with the lighting spear you can easily finish of anything else safe behind your shield.
Other items I haven't included but are useful to keep on hand are the grass crest shield (which gives a quicker stamina regain but you loose the stability 100% physical protection) and Astora's straight sword (which has moderate damage and divine effect which makes catacombs a lot easier).
