This build is hilariously fun, and surprisingly strong, even vs some of the better, higher skilled players. The new magic is obviously very powerful, but relatively easy to dodge on it's own. This build mixes it up and adds a ton of options and utility within that.
Chameleon isn't actually a joke, its fairly useful here. Chameleon makes it so that your opponent is not able to lock on to your character, and if cast at the start of the match with pursuers up lets you release them in tandem with another spell and makes it harder for an opponent to see whats coming and react appropriately.
Pursuers and Soul Mass spells do not fire at your target unless you are facing them, so with that in mind it's possible to hold onto a cast of pursuers simply by facing your back to the target and then turning when you want to release them. Often times I start a spell cast and use lockon to pivot and release my pursuers, and when done with bead or soul spear can make for some especially nasty combos.
For non-arena based PvP I tend to swap out Great Heal and Great Magic barrier for Great Combustion and Fire Surge to help deal with those players using Magic Barrier to try and deal with my build. Having a backup Lightning/Fire/Chaos Rapier also helps in this regard.
