If you care more about having 20 poise and don't care about having less defense use the following equipment:
-Crown of Dusk
-Naked
-Catarina Gauntlets
-Hollow Soldier Waistcloth
Whichever one is better may be determined by your play style. (I honestly don't know whether that is true or not).
I tweaked this build a bit from the one in the guide. The Brigand Gauntlets offer more physical defense than the Tattered Cloth Manchette, but the Brigand Gauntlets offer less magic defense and less resistance (all three of them). Overall the Brigand Gauntlets provide more defense. In my opinion the difference hardly means anything, but I like that it the Equip Load is exactly 25% rather than 24.7% when wearing the Tattered Cloth Manchette.
