The build is named because of the Lifehunt ability on the scythe, which even the gods feared. The armor gives the most bleed resist possible, combined with the Bloodbite Ring, Bloodshield and high Endurance means that you have an extremely high bleed resist, so the Lifehunt Scythe's bleed matters a bit less to you. The Iaito is there as a backup weapon, in case you somehow get your own bleed meter too high. Keeping some Bloodred Moss on you is advised as a just-in-case, though you may not need to quickslot it. Also, be warned of the low poise, as several weapons will stun you on the first hit, so knowing how to toggle escape could prove handy.
