Notes from author
This build is built on quick switching rings and weapons in order to fit different situations.
Weapons:
Shortsword: Yes, the shortsword. Only ways 1.5 units, has 400 AR (roughly the same as the longsword), and the same fantastic moveset. A highly underrated side weapon.
Claymore: My main weapon of choice on this build, this can be any weapon that you like, though heavier hitting weapons like the claymore complement the shortsword well.
Murakumo: Great for opponents on low health due to the running attack, or for turtles with it's crazy dead angles
Great Scythe: Same niche as Murakumo, though can be better for higher poise opponents due to the low recovery time with hits (assuming you hit them)
Greatsword: Stunlocks and has great dead angles, with a (in my opinion) more versatile r2 than the zweihander.
Pike: For other spear users or buff-spammers

Rings:
My Go-to ring is the Steel Protection; 21 poise can tank a 1 handed katana hit and lower. If a person is particularly aggressive with a katana or straight sword, switch to the wolf ring and enjoy being able to take 2 consecutive hits with no stun.
Red tearstone is great for end of fights and comebacks
Hornet for bs fishers, gankers, or if you're savvy enough to quickswitch between a parry and riposte.
