Large/Great club Ninja flip build.
The goal of this build is to apply heavy pressure on the opponent using the Rolling 2HR1 and poison. The rolling 2HR1 cannot be parried and will knock them back on a successful hit. But that isn't the only effective move you can use. 1HR2's on the Large club have good range although they do less poise damage, even if you miss and they move in close you can hit R2 again to do a follow up swing, catching them off guard.
\\"But the clubs are slow and leave me open to backstabs\\" Fear not, this is where the Helm of thorns comes in. It can save you from a backstab. All you have to do is roll into them as they circle you and it should cancel out the backstab. Upon getting back up simply either roll away or try roll Backstabbing them as payback.
Grass crest shield and Green blossom may seem unnecessary or even overkill but you need lots of stamina regen while you apply heavy pressure.
ALTERNATIVES
If using the great club swap Cleric leggings for either Iron leggings or Knight leggings and use Charcoal pine resin.
More poise can be added by either swapping the DWGR for the wolf ring or alternatively using no shield and equipping Giant armor and Hollow soldier leggings.
If fighting a magic user you can swap the grass crest shield for the Crest shield.
The following weapons also work well with this build: Man serpent great sword, Dragon bone fist, Club, Reinforced club. Just apply better poise armor for the lighter weapons
Weapons heavier than 12 in weight cannot ninja flip without sacrificing poise and armor.
If you want to be a jerk and one shot someone (gankers), simply swap the DWGR for the hornet ring, equip Great club and the armor required to fast roll with it, swap a black flame for power within and you have a recipe for doing 1800+ damage with a BS or riposte.
