Don't equip all weapons: You want to move quickly. Shoot a lot of arrows and don't get hit... Nothing special there. If you equip the rusted iron ring, you have a major speed advantage in either blight town or the tar pit in sen's fortress. If you must use melee weapons, use daggers.
