Hide in nice spot to ambush your opponent, once your discovered switch slumbering to Dark Wood Grain Ring and quickly escape to re-set up your ambush.
Also keep Hornet Ring on you for those parries and backstabs.
Aural Decoy is for PvE, use the Oolacile Ivory Catalyst as it's the lightest in the game, and it can still be used to serve it's purpose.
Use your firebombs to distract the invader and lead them down the wrong trail.
I recommend hosting as you won't have to deal with being red or blue. Hosting in Dark Anor Londo will make you near invisible and make you almost impossible to see.
