The idea is to keep the oponent at a distance with sharp pokes and counters from the spear, while maintaining a way to keep the pressure on with the crystal ring shield, you could swap out the dark wood graing ring for the havels ring to boost your poise and protection a bit with the elite knight set, but i seem to find this build both fun and effective in pvp. Take it for a spin, one remark tough, backstabs are less effective than a counter while using this, so try not to counter from behind, good hunting ;-)
