an extremely versatile build that suits many play styles, though early in the game it will be hard to play due to lack of spells(until you reach the sunlight altar).
use astora's straight sword until you can make a divine claymore.
the effigy shield is not the best option but I chose it simply because it suits the character background, (sanctus, grass crest shield or silver/black knight shield are considerable alternatives)
If you are not interested in sorcery use the soul of gwyndolin to get the sunlight spear this will save you the 8 levels I put in intelligence.
