Before even hollows were around. This unknown man, who lived in the lower Burg, was a master thief. Why many asked? Because of his ability to run by steal everything you own, and then magically disappear from sight (ring of fog)! Any who stood In his way were beaten with his club or slashed to a bloody mess with his dull knife.
When Lordran was infested with the Undead, the amount of people he could steal from began to decrease. As the people began to disappear his need for stealing became an obsession rather than a hobby. When all had become Hollow but him, he lost the will to live (from not stealing :/ ) and he soon became a hollow himself, he then, in his hollowed state, stole from the hollows :) and any who come into the Burg.
