Largely a faith build, the Defender has some pretty good defenses but does not sacrifice them for offense.
Two casts of Wrath and Emit Force give it pretty long range, and the Gargoyle Tail Axe is easily obtainable and very underused, considering that it is one of the game's more interesting weapons.
With all of the pyros out of the bag a Black Knight Shield is a good thing to pick up- especially against people with Black Flame.
A Chaos Composite Bow with Fire Arrows does a significant amount of fire damage, and gives the Defender even more range. Breaking the 53 Poise mark, it also looks somewhat cool.
This build has a lot of implications, along with the items make it a versatile character.
