A 59 poise build, the Foot Soldier is largely a dex character that gets a huge buff on ranged lightning attacks with a light crossbow.
Putting a crossbow in the right hand allows it to be two handed like a bow, and the Shotel can deal with enemy turtles. Dual wielding, an Uchi can both attack and parry, and since it is a katana it gets bleed and is a more worthwhile left handed weapon than other choices. Of course you can choose to switch to your GCS and two hand a Shotel to pierce an opponent.
+15 Weapons also mean you can use resins.
When you use a Green Blossom you should take out your shield, and it makes the stamina regen a lot faster.
