I've been playing with my "Karmaic Justice Fencer" build lately and I've redesigned some things. I personally think this is, at least to me, coolest looking build I've ever created so far, so it's a bit of "fashion souls" now so to speak.
The rings are a bit noobier, but I personally couldn't get the Leo ring to work at around level 50 invasion levels. It's too risky to try and get a counter with such little vitality and endurance to do a rapier 'block and attack' move. A zweihander will drain all your stamina after hitting your shield while you attack, and the leo ring damage buff was not enough to kill most players.
You can switch the dark wood grain ring to something else if you like, I've just got it in there because it fits with my playstyle with this build - bait an attack then lean in with the rapier. If they have no poise, then I bait and R2 spam them with Ricard's Rapier buffed which is pretty much a guaranteed kill.
Make sure to use the green blossom if you're able to eat it safely. The cloranthy ring is probably my second choice after the dark wood grain ring, as this class literally eats your endurance if you use the R2.
Since you have enough faith, you can change 'Black Flame' to something else if you like, but I recommend something that can break guards. Thats the main weakness with this build - turtlers - especially the ones that make a point to literally never attack ever until they can summon their buddy.
