It is best you don't go above level 50 and washing pole/great combustion may be substituted (weapon weight cannot exceed 8 units). Attunement slot isn't required but highly recommended against turtles. This build requires that you are decent at rolling and able to 2h your weapon almost the entire time. If you can't constantly use 2h, try Uchigatana with grass crest shield.
