This build actually works with the exact same stats as the golden warrior build. However, the point of this build is to be iron. Any item that is black and iron will generally work, but be careful that you don't look to similar to Iron Tarkus, Iron Golem, or the Berenike Knights.
Other items that work are Vamos's Hammer, Blacksmith Hammer, Priscilla's Dagger (preferably offhand), dark silver tracer (same as previous). Heavy crossbow (or sniper, but that one sucks harder than any other weapon in the game), and whips (notched and guardian kinda look iffy). Black knight stuff is a little awkward so i would avoid it, light armor that's black is not recommended. Any of the other shields don't mix well with the golem armor, but are still usable.
When fighting, this build most likely will be playing defensive. If the person is one-handing their weapon then cast iron flesh and hope they don't know how it works. If they two-hand, cast it anyways because that's the point of this build. However, if there are magic users, DO NOT CAST IRON FLESH. Those fuckers don't know how to have any fun and will just spam soul spear and dark bead. If the person was hiding their catalyst, use your shield b/c it has pretty good magic defense, unless they get in range for a 2-hand stunlock combo. Special warning, lightning damage is boosted by iron flesh so lightning miracles, sunlight blade, and gold pine resin will make you cry. But people rarely know this so it hasn't really been that bad.
Against everyone else, just trade hits as best you can. Any tanky build should be beatable because you have very high defenses as well as huge poise. If they are faster, attempt to get counter damage with the 2H R2 which can do upwards of 900 damage. 1h has trouble stunlocking, but 2h almost always will work, so staying two handed is often the way to go. Watch for parries and kick + R2 can scare off parriers. Backstabbers are countered by unlocking.
