Notes from author
The point of this build to be a Duelist. A high hp, high poise, low damage, fastroller.
Any alterations to the armor and weapons are not recommended.
You might wonder why this would be better than a spear user and i would say that it's because this build cooler.
The fighting method is essentially evasion with lots of poking, r2's and kick-slashes. Actually, try to use kick-slashes as much as you can because they look cool as fuck. DO NOT BE THE ASSHOLE THAT JUST FISHES FOR BACKSTABS. That is not the point of this build, the point is to do very little damage at a time, but by playing perfectly and you will win and also take no damage. Parrying is legitimate, but try not to do the ring switch because, once again, the point is not to end the fight in 1 hit. I personally find parrying with the target shield and rapiers difficult compared to normal parrying, but to those who can, have fun.
If you're feeling brave, switch to duel wielding the mail breaker and the rapier. The offhand mail breaker takes away blocking but reduces the change of a backstab after attempting a parry. The rapier has a good thrust attack that can often provide counter damage. I prefer the estoc because it naturally has range but still has some sweeping attacks.
With competent play, you should never be stunlocked by tank builds and be able to avoid fliproll backstabbing builds. However, the one bane you will face will once again be the annoying spear users. They essentially are this build with higher range and less awesome. Be prepared to lose a lot, especially against spears. Green moss is necessary and stamina conservation will be important. Learning animation ques and predicting enemy behavior will best allow you to win. This build is quite difficult to win with but is quite enjoyable, even when you lose.
Bonus - use Beckon then Bow for maximum Zorro enhancement
