With the Crystal Uchigatana (which you can stock up on by joining the Forest Hunters and buying from Shiva of the East in blighttown, you are actually going to push out more damage than a Chaos Blade with 10 humanity. Goodbye useless R2 attacks, and hello useful thrust damage.
Lastly, with a dex of 40-45. you can go full derp with something like a gold tracer. You are also able to cast pyromancies faster (if you choose 80 vit/45 dex)
