Riordan, a knight of Vinheim, was marked with the Darksign at the age of 28. He had managed to keep it under covers until the age of 35, when he fell ill and it was discovered by his doctor. Despite his pleas, Riordan was still cast into the Asylum.
Being from Vinheim, Riordan possessed magical capabilities and was still sane enough to hone his abilities. He vowed vengeance on the doctor, whenever he would escape.
Leaving by the crow, however, Riordan realized that he might never get vengeance. Instead, as his physical and arcane power swelled, he decided that people like him needed to discover just who- and what- they were.
When he came across Solaire of Astora, Riordan thought him a madman, and at the bridge, killed him.
As he progressed, Riordan's desires shifted from killing other undead to assisting them. This change was brought about by Logan, whom after Riordan discovered, insane in Seath's lair, Riordan killed him. He decided that too many sane undead had fallen by his hand, and only hollows should.
Pledging himself to the cause, Riordan joined the Chaos Servants, and helped bring about the healing of his mistress by helping her in the past- in the Township, where the Abyss broke free. By stopping Manus in different worlds then, he can preserve the future of Izalith.
