Little known fact - a crystal +5 greatsword combined with the leo ring has the highest counter damage in the whole game. The weapon's stab attack does ridiculous amounts of damage when it interrupts an enemy attack, and is fairly fast and easy to execute.
For full potential, enter hypermode with power within, but this is very difficult and requires less armor.
This improved version of the build focuses on heavier armor and more vitality since countering often involves tanking hits. Mid roll is acceptable because it is still functional and hopefully you will kill them fast enough that you don't need to roll.
