This build creates the perfect (imho) blend of strength of weapon, speed and a decent defense. You couldn't have another ounce more of weight without putting on Havel's ring of the Ring of Favor and Protection. If you like to have spells you could always replace the default rings with attunement ones.
Basically this build gives you great protection while allowing you to choose your own rings and not relying on rings to give health of allow heavier carrying. I do think the Dark Wood ring is essential to this build. The poise is extremely low if hit without the shield up.
