-Velka's Rapier: Spacing and poking tool. Inflicts magic damage, so it will be particularly effective against low MAG DEF builds if they can be properly outspaced. Takes advantage of high INT and DEX stats.
-Hornet Ring: for parrying with Dark Silver Tracer and backstabbing when given the chance. It is a balanced choice, since backstab fishing is not affordable at low poise. It also a great surprise against players that don't realize Velka's can parry.
-Tin Banishment Catalyst: Takes advantage of high DEX stat when using dark magic. Increases the strength of Pursuers and Dark Orb.
-Poison and Toxic: Dark Fog (Poison), Poison Knives (high-poison), Dung Pie (Toxic), and Dark Silver Tracer R2 (Toxic). I believe these are excellent tools for dealing with turtle-defensive players, especially highly-armored fat-rollers (especially Havel's). Also takes advantage of universally low Poison resist stat due to unpopularity of Resistance. Poison is complemented by Velka keepaway split-damage poking, and healing is discouraged by Dark Silver tracer.
-Gravelord Greatsword Dance / Fire Tempest: a surprise set-up attack. Takes advantage of Dark Fog's range, so it can be set up at safer distances than with Poison/Toxic mist. Dark Fog's animation can also be confused with the casting of other Dark Magic, so the opponent may be more hesitant to react. Fog poisons and conceals casting of Pursuers followed by the Spell/Miracle. Gravelord Greatsword Dance has more consistent uses, but probably does less damage. Probably go-to tool in ganking scenarios.
-Gauntlet of Thorns: can save from backstabs. Can also use its stun ability for easy rolling pressure and fast r1 following-up. I've beaten heavy armors like this.
-Build is highly customizable. Other options: Crystal Magic Weapon, Bandit's Knife, Black Bow of Pharis, Magic Composite Bow, Moonlight Arrows, Poison Arrows, Shotel, Great Scythe, Moonlight Greatsword, Chaos Blade.
