Wanted to create a build that can have all the equipment it needs 20-30 minutes from the start of the game (before the first bell is rung).
Only armor pieces I considered: Stone, Elite Knight, Knight, Chain, Hollow Warrior, Iron...
Fitting different combos of that stuff into Endurance was a pain...
The more I played from the beginning - The more I just wanted Stone set with Hollow Warrior Legs.... Which only required I push Endurance up 4 more points...
For Weapons: I considered The Great Scythe, Uchigatana, Scimitar, and Falchion.
I ended up picking the Scimitar because it's the lightest and I'd rather spend my Weight on Armor. I also love the move set, and the 10 extra damage the Falchion does doesn't make up for the 1 extra weight it carries.
I can also use it 1 or 2 handed without putting any points into strength.
My Path is:
- Undead Berg to buy Scimitar
- Fight way through Taurus Demon and get to Bridge and use Dragon to farm the souls until you have 20,000 souls.
- From there - Go to Andre of Astora via Darkroot Basin via The door that needs the Master Key that Havel is in (run past everything).
- Buy the Crest of Artorias from Andre.
- Proceed to Darkroot Garden.
- Open Hidden Bonfire. Use it.
- Open Door to Clan of Forest Protectors area.
- Go get the Stone Armor set.
- Use the glitch to farm 1,200,000 souls from them. (Will take about a hour. Note: I have a saved state I made at 1,200,000 souls at this point - saves me time.)
- Level up as listed.
- Go to Undead Perish. (about a minute run from Darkroot Garden).
- Farm Hollow Warriors until you get the waist drop.
- Go into the Perish. Kill the Sorcerer easy with a Bow and Arrow (10 shots of basic arrows will do).
- Clean out the second floor and free Knight Lautrec of Carim, then kill him for the Ring of Favor and Protection.
- Finally go kill Havel.
This takes about 2 hours and you won't need to level up or equip any other items the whole game (except bow).
