Ah, the claymore. This beastly tool of destruction may not do the most damage, but damn me if it's not effective. IMO it has the best patterns in the game, doing decent poise damage, and hits like a donky punch from Jesus when buffed. The armor because it looks cool, because fashion souls>function souls. Havels ring for obvious reasons, same with the ring of FAP.
