Notes from author
(w/ hornet) one-hand and keep your shield up most of the time, go for strafe/roll backstabs whenever possible, avoid unnecessary rolling and stay at the tip of the halberds range, don't throw out attacks (play as reactive as possible)
(w/ dwgr) mostly the same as above but with more freedom to roll (siderolls are worth going for of course~) and you're better off two-handing
alt. setup: giant chest + giant arms, swap heater shield for grass crest and hornet/dwgr to havel's
if you're at low health you can swap to estoc and silver knight shield for a decent turtle (black knight shield if using the havel's setup)
with practice you can get a good grasp on when to punish with an r1 vs going for the backstab punish. iirc the r1 has slightly more range one-handed. i don't remember bothering with either of the r2s. getting impatient is the main thing that gets me killed on this build
this is mainly for self-reference but if it helps you i guess that's neat too
