First off, this build was based on parrfaced's excellent Zorbeline build (<a href="http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=381580078642488314)," target="_blank" rel="nofollow">mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/...</a> and I'm indebted to him because if he hadn't posted that, I would have never found the perfect build to carry me through the game.
This build has a few modifications. For one, it's level 122, which is the highest level you can be while still being able to invade anyone level 100+ using cracked red eye orbs etc. Perfect level for getting into as many PvP scraps as possible.
I dropped an attunement slot because five is more than enough to have a wide range of spells to handle various situations.
Higher Endurance so that you're over the 56 poise threshold, which is a lot more forgiving if you're up against strength weapons users.
16 strength so that you can one-hand the Great Scythe, the Flamberge, Avelyn, Silver Knight Spear... basically, you have enough strength to one-hand most of the predominantly Dex-scaling weapons, and anything you can't one hand, you can two-hand. So you get a lot more variety in terms of the weapons you can use. It's even better if you can learn to menu-switch mid-fight. Keep the Warrior's Round Shield handy if you want to switch to the Flamberge or any of the heavier weapons, as it's a good light alternative to the heater shield with decent magic defense.
Like parrfaced's build, you can switch out the DWGR for Bellowing Dragoncrest, Fog Ring, Hornet Ring or whatever as the situation calls for it.
Why is there no helmet? Because one of my favourite tricks is to switch DWGR to Havel's ring mid-fight and fast-equip the Golem Helm, which boosts my poise to 70. It catches a lot of people off guard when a ninja-flipper transforms into a poise monster mid-fight.
Anyway. Give it a try. It's nice not having to be bound by one play style.
