I wanted a build that used one of the Artorias swords and wanted to make a build that's designed to kill someone in a variety of ways without resorting to Pursuers, WotG, Dark bead, Great combustion/Black Flame, or any of the extremely common OP spells. In addition, I also wanted a build which I could also practice with other weapons, so his stats are quality and has more than enough strength to wield 50 STR weapons in 2 hands.
I also chose to use zero poise to keep me on edge. I've noticed that sometimes I get really careless and I think not being staggered by most weapons, since my two main builds have 56 and 74 poise and getting hit by most weapons isn't as dangerous as it should be due to such.
In addition, I use Rotten Pine Resin to enchant my enchantable weapons since it has synergy with poison mist and dark fog (the flame and catalyst are in the left hand for this reason). Dung pie is there with blooming purple moss to make your enemies toxic which keeping you from dying from toxin damage. Silver pendant is to turn those dark magic guy's tactic into obsolescence. Dark magic build? More like Forcefield.
The only scaling spell is Fire tempest.
If you're against a slower build, the Dark Wood grain ring could be switched out for a hornet ring, or havel's ring if I think it's appropriate to switch out for the heavier 30-50 STR requirement weapons.
