Notes from author
Part of a series I'm going to do, covering all levels for co-op summoning, conservatively. The necessary levels are 12, 36, 65, 101, 145, 198, 263, 343, 441, 561, and 707. If you have a character at each and every of these levels, then you will be able to be summoned to anybody, at any level, with one of these.
This build itself doesn't matter as much. I'm going to base it around Giant Dad, but, obviously, you can use any build you want that fits the soul level.
Now for build-specific details.
At soul level 12, we don't have much freedom, as many things we simply cannot do, such as many sorceries and miracles and many weapons with high requirements. We can go the rout of fat roll/slow walk+iron flesh, or go the route of wolf ring+light armor. Of course, because the weapon is much of the weight, it'll all depend on which weapon we use. We're going to want a weapon that doesn't scale much with stats, such as chaos weapons or weapons that don't scale altogether. The chaoshander is extraordinarily wonderful for min-maxing in general, as it is the lightest ultra-greatsword. That is what I will use in this build.
Sorceries and Miracles won't be very effective, as we can't use the most powerful ones, and they are too dependent upon scaling. Pyromancies, however, do not scale with stats, so they are perfect for a low level build. Grass crest shield is pretty great, especially since we have a heavy weapon, which will eat up stamina. With all of giant dad's equipment, we can medium roll with 13 endurance. When we put on iron flesh, however, we will want to switch out Havel's ring and mask of the father.
If you're wanting light rolls, I recommend a chaos weapon such as a katana.
As far as co-op goes, just make the host's survival top priority. You can't reap the benefits if he dies, but he can still benefit if you die. Later on, I would use miracles. Bountiful and Soothing sunlight will be great when we have 50 faith and 50 attunement.
