You can use the Great Scythe up to the point of getting the Lifehunt Scythe from Soul of Priscilla. You can also use the Whip up to the same point in the game where you can get the Notched Whip. You can start as a Pyromancer or Wanderer as they both end up at soul level 150. You also do not need to stop there. I have the soft cap in Dexterity, Strength, Vitality, Endurance, and Resistance
