An idea I've been mulling over for a gimmicky but lore-friendly dex/int build with primarily PvE in mind. Not shown here, but also used as equipment to change between is Velka's Rapier or a Lightning Shotel +5 in place of the BSS, optionally with an Occult Parrying Dagger in the offhand, the Lifehunt Scythe (wielded two-handed) with the Hornet Ring swapped for the Bloodbite Ring, and optionally the Darkmoon Seance Ring in place of the Hornet for the additional attunement slot if going more magic-focused (perhaps use the ring and swap Karmic Justice for Pursuers).
The idea is to cast Karmic Justice, then make use of the Effigy Shield's high (but not 100%) physical dmg reduction to let the enemy get some hits off on you for minimal damage, but letting enough through to ultimately trigger KJ's Wrath of the Gods effect. Also chose this shield for it's parry window.
Lore-wise, where Velka's Pardoner, Oswald of Carim, exists to absolve sin, Velka's Punisher exists to, as the name implies, give sinners big hugs, pets on the head, and words of comfort. Joking aside, the character is also from Carim, hence the inclusion of the Shotel and the Bloodbite Ring. (in addition to it's usefulness in counteracting the Lifehunt Scythe's self-bleed buildup) As is favored by the goddess, the character is possessed of high degrees of both intelligence, and skill in swordsmanship. When realistically viable, he prefers using a parrying dagger to a shield in his offhand, as is the ancient tradition of Carim.
