This is the build I plan to use for a Dark Souls challenge run where after every death I have to do 5 squats. This build isn't trying to be viable for PVP, or being capable of taking on massive pve challenges, the goal of this build is just to provide me with something that I feel comfortable using, while also simultaneously giving me decent survivability and fashion souls.
I'll explain my reasoning behind my weapon choice as follows
My first priority was doing a build that I had never done before. Given I've only really played Dark Souls 1 once that really only meant the Halberd was totally out of the question as that was my first weapon. Originally I considered using thrusting swords like the Estoc, or curved swords like the Falchion as those would make my life easier. However I decided that as the challenge was also being done to improve fitness, I should try to make it somewhat difficult, so I decided to go strength build. From there I had to decide, Hammers, which I have absolutely no experience with in Dark Souls, the Claymore, or the Zweihander both of which I have used in Dark Souls 3. I ultimately decided on the Zweihander for its pancaking ability and fun factor
