You are in the +0 weapon range at level 9, so you finally have a use for the molten kick (orange charred ring and thorn leggings both add damage to your kicks, useless in normal play but actually noticeable at this level). Press r1 a whole bunch while weaving in a kick every now and then to deal a bit of damage, add a bit of style and instantly stun them. (doesn't matter how much poise they've got, a kick stuns 'em.)
