Vessel shield is key, brings the dex up to 12, including Cale's helm. You can also swap out Cale's helm for Hexer headpiece and use Dex ring for 15 dex and use Ice Rapier (2-handed). Ring of binding for proper use of Dark Pyro flame as it is most effective when fully hollowed to 50%hp (Ring does not reduce effect). This build is also meant to balance Agility and Dex, Simpleton's ring won't get you to the next bracket for i-frames (which is 92 agility for 10 frames, compared to 88 agility for 9 frames), and to get to the next bracket you will probably have to sacrifice all other armour for peasant, which is not recommended. I understand Vessel shield is more later game and you may have to make-do with what you have until then (you could rush through Eleum). Work hook can be a good substitute earlier on if you don't mind having very few i-frames to work with (maybe compansate with lower carry-weight?) Vessel shield gives crazy stat boosts with only drawback being 'it has to be equipped', which isn't too bad unless you crucially rely on it's boost to vigor; you shoudn't be relying on it's boost to Fatih and Intelligence, you may want to consult another SL1 caster build for that. Vessel benefits: +1 VGR , +1 END, +4 STR , +4 DEX, +1 ADP, +1 INT, +1 FTH and parrys spells.
